Research Engineer Position in Pediatric Oncology (F/M) (F/H)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Research Engineer with a strong experimental focus on routine production of NGS libraries and standard sequencing data analysis. The candidate will contribute to data interpretation in close collaboration with the bioinformaticians in the team.

Main Responsibilities

• Preparation of NGS libraries (DNA/RNA) from peripheral samples (blood, bone marrow, CSF) including circulating free DNA (cfDNA).
• Development, implementation and optimization of biomolecule analysis methods and detection of genetic alterations using NGS approaches (WES/WGS, RNA-seq).
• Transfer, validation and application of methods to pediatric patient cohorts.
• Production and management of sample batches with rigorous traceability.
• Close collaboration with the sequencing platform (ICGex) and bioinformaticians for data monitoring and interpretation.
• Contribution to the synthesis and presentation of results.
• Contribution to continuous improvement of protocols and analytical performance.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in NGS library preparation and use of sequencing platforms (e.g., Illumina).
• Expertise in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA) and quality control.
• Experience in routine NGS data production using complex biological samples.
• Understanding of NGS data formats (FASTQ, BAM) and ability to interact effectively with bioinformaticians.
• Strong experimental rigor, organizational skills and ability to handle large sample volumes.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Contract Information

• Type of contract: CDD
• Starting date: As soon as possible
• Duration: 18 months renewable
• Working time: 39 h
• Remuneration: according to the current grids
