Offer Description
The Centre d’Études Spatiales de la BIOsphère (CESBIO) is a public research laboratory dedicated to advancing our understanding of continental surface processes and their interactions with climate and human activities. CESBIO scientists make extensive use of remote sensing technologies to monitor environmental changes across spatial and temporal scales and to develop models that address key societal challenges related to biodiversity, climate change, food security, and water resources. The laboratory also plays a central role in the development and promotion of Earth Observation, contributing to the design, implementation, and scientific exploitation of numerous satellite missions. CESBIO is a Unité Mixte de Recherche (Joint Research Unit) bringing together the CNES, CNRS, IRD, and the University of Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier and associate to INRAe as a mixt service unit.
MyEasyFarm is a French AgTech startup that supports the agroecological transition of the agricultural sector through its MyEasyCarbon platform. The MyEasyBiomass project, an European Space Agency (ESA) demonstration project supported by ESA BIC SUD, is led by MyEasyFarm in collaboration with CESBIO. It aims to integrate the AgriCarbon-EO scientific model to precisely and cost‑effectively measure the biomass of crops and intermediate cover crops using satellite data. This approach reduces estimation uncertainty and increases the reliability of the carbon credits generated.
Research Engineer
Research Engineer specialized in remote sensing and/or modeling. He/she will be part of the MyEasyBiomass project led by CESBIO and MyEasyFarm. Here are the missions:
- Analysis of multisource data (optical satellites, SAR S1 radar, weather, in‑situ measurements) for the calibration and validation of the agricultural biomass estimation model.
- Integration of new optical and radar (SAR S1) data sources.
- Implementation of statistical methods for integrating satellite data into modeling.
- Development of functionalities in Python, with Git version management.
- Writing technical reports and scientific documents.
- Participation in AgriCarbon-EO development team meetings.
- Transferring developments to MyEasyFarm teams.
- Presenting progress results to project partners and at conferences.
