Research Assistant Professor, Division of Science

Research Assistant Professor (Division of Science) – post reference 26/129 – is a position in the Division of Science at Lingnan University. The successful candidate will lead research in geoinformatics and teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a liberal arts setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain externally funded research projects and publish in high-quality peer‑reviewed journals.
• Develop and manage geospatial applications and collaborate with NGOs and external partners.
• Contribute to teaching and student supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Engage in community outreach and knowledge transfer activities.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in geography, GIS, remote sensing, GeoAI, or related discipline within the last five years.
• Postdoctoral and/or independent research experience.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed international journals.
• Track record in competitive grant applications and funding.
• Experience in developing, managing, and applying geospatial applications, tools, or platforms.
• Ability to contribute to the Division of Science’s teaching, student supervision, outreach, knowledge‑transfer, and services.
• Commitment to producing socially significant research that informs sustainable development.
