Research And Development Engineer

We are hiring a R&D Engineer, for a 12 months temporary contract

You will be based at our Apprieu Research Centre (France, nearby Lyon), within a team of researchers closely working with the papermills, Technical Customer Services, partners and suppliers. Business trips up to 30% (including traveling at any of our site in Europe and Brazil) depending on projects’ needs.

Main responsibilities:

Aiming at developing Decor Papers and Pre-Impregnated Papers used in multiple home building applications, in respect of highest level of safety, your missions will be to:

• lead and execute new product and process development projects
• improve/develop existing products with respect to internal and external partners
• define project organization to meet target and deadlines, execute experimental designs, prepare and monitor pilot and industrial trials
• perform competitor benchmarking to support business development
• develop and put in place new test methods
• evaluate new raw material for product development, sourcing support or sustainability purpose
• support operations and Technical Customer Services when required with a customer centric and team player mindset
• provide technical and scientific expertise in your area of competence

Profile and qualification:

• Engineering degree, Master or PhD in Chemistry/Material Science
• 3 to 8 years of experience in a similar position
• Good scientific level is expected with high interest for technical and industrial topics
• Knowledge in formulation or coating would be appreciated
• Logic and pragmatic

• French speaker or bilingual, regular use of professional English (oral and written), German would be appreciated
