Overview

Barclays Bank Ireland plc, a Significant Institution supervised by the European Central Bank, Central Bank of Ireland, ACPR and AMF, is seeking a Vice President for Regulatory Relations within its Europe Regulatory Relations team in Paris. The role is a fixed‑term contract ending February 2027 and is located in the Paris office. Minimum annual base salary is €75,000. Key Responsibilities

  • Support core Businesses and Functions to deliver a programme of work for EU regulators and manage senior‑level relationships with those regulators.
  • Develop and communicate insights on Barclay’s regulatory relationships and industry‑wide themes.
  • Record and facilitate the reporting of regulatory engagement, issues and commitments using client relationship management technology.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to business and Functions on regulatory and supervisory developments, including exam management, logistics, attendee coordination, presentation content, meeting preparations and follow‑ups.
  • Coordinate and draft internal communications and briefs for regulator meetings, attend meetings, draft meeting notes and ensure completion of follow‑up actions.
  • Assist in the production of management information (MI) and other internal reporting, provide best practices, identify process improvement opportunities and take ownership of assigned tasks from start to finish.
  • Work as the central coordination point for all regulatory requests, reviews, examinations, responses and notifications, collaborating with Accountable Executives to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
  • Advise and brief internal stakeholders for regulatory engagement, record all engagement and forward actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide insightful and timely MI on regulatory engagement and priorities to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging themes and issues and escalating to appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
  • Share information across regions to optimise the global regulatory profile and monitor and evaluate relationships, ensuring timely advice, escalation and remedial action.

Qualifications

  • Ideally previous experience in regulatory relations within a financial institution and/or a European regulatory authority, or exposure to regulatory implementation or interpretation.
  • Interest in and awareness of regulation, politics and finance.
  • Qualified to degree level or professionally qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi‑task, respond quickly to requests and work at a high pace while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience working in a blue‑chip financial services organisation.
  • Fluent in English and the relevant local language for the region of work, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
