Overview
Purpose of the role: To provide strategic advice and guidance on all aspects of regulatory engagement, while managing and coordinating the bank’s interactions with regulators, ensuring open and constructive regulatory relationships.
Responsibilities
- Central co‑ordination point for all regulatory requests, reviews, examinations, responses, and notifications, collaborating with relevant Accountable Executives to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Advising and briefing internal stakeholders for regulatory engagement, recording all regulatory engagement, and forwarding actions arising to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Provision of insightful and timely MI on regulatory engagement and priorities to internal stakeholders.
- Identification of emerging themes and issues and escalation to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
- Role model of Firm ambitions of consistently excellent in all regulatory engagement.
- Information sharing across regions to optimise the global regulatory profile.
- Monitoring and evaluation of regulatory relationships, ensuring timely advice, escalation and execution where remedial action is required.
- Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
- Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and raise breaches of policies/procedures.
- If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.
- Lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, aligning strategic and tactical priorities, balancing short and long‑term goals, and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda, demonstrating comprehensive understanding of organisational functions.
- Collaborate with other areas of work to keep pace with business activity and strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- Adopt and include outcomes of extensive research in problem‑solving processes.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills.
- Report on regulatory engagement, issues, and commitments using client relationship management technology.
- Act as a trusted adviser to business and functions on regulatory and supervisory developments, execute regulator exam management, and coordinate logistics, attendees, presentation content, meeting preparations, and follow‑ups.
- Coordinate and draft internal communications and briefs for regulator meetings, attend meetings, draft meeting notes, and ensure completion of any follow‑up actions.
- Assist in the production of MI and other internal reporting, provide consistent best practices, identify areas for process improvement, and take ownership of assigned tasks from start to finish.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in regulatory relations gained either in a financial institution and/or a European regulatory authority, or exposure to regulatory implementation or interpretation.
- Interest in and awareness of regulation, politics, and finance.
- Qualified to degree level or professionally qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi‑task, respond quickly to requests, and work at a high pace while maintaining accuracy.
- Experience working in a blue‑chip financial services organisation.
- Fluent in English and in the relevant local language for the region of work, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
Employment Conditions
- Fixed term contract, due to end in February2027.
- Location: Paris office.
- Minimum salary: €75,000 per annum (full‑time equivalent base salary).
