For this, the Compliance Manager works closely with the various department heads and/or process owners. Job Description

The Compliance Manager translates changes into tangible actions for implementation in internal procedures and processes. For this, the Compliance Manager works closely with the various department heads and/or process owners. In this way the Compliance Manager assures that the internal procedures and processes are in compliance with the requirements that are essential to a sustainable operation.

Responsibilties;

  • Act as the go-to person for any questions regarding local legislation and Corporate standards & procedures;
  • Actively monitors changes in local legislation and Corporate standards & procedures and translates relevant changes into tangible actions and communicates these with involved employees/departments/process owners;
  • Coordinate permit applications and translate (new) requirements out of these permits into tangible actions;
  • Inform organization of changes;
  • Work with relevant people to implement changes in procedures and processes;
  • Coordinate internal auditing to monitor compliance with internal procedures;
  • Conduct internal audits and oversight of the audit program;
  • Monitor incident investigations quality or lead investigations;
  • Monitor adequate documentation of legally required documents (f.i. EVD,
  • asbestos, CE certificates, Testing & Inspection, PHA etc.);
  • Monitor follow-up of action items (audits, incidents, MOC, etc.) incl. KPI’s;
  • Coordinate communication with authorities;
  • Monthly reporting on compliance status to Management Team;
  • Act as the go-to person for questions on permit application related to capital projects;
  • Reviews project pipeline with Project Department for compliance implications.
  • Monitor training program for progress against the targets and whether the program meets legal and Corporate requirements.

Profile

Qualified candidates will have at minimum a B.S. level education in chemical or mechanical engineering. Preferably a master degree or BS degree supplemented with a master degree relevant EH&S degree.

  • Min. 10 years relevant experience working in EH&S roles in the chemical industry is required, preferably working in a tier 1 Seveso location.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations/standards.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Dutch.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and influential skills and managerial capacities.
  • Capability to interact with other departments such as Operations, Project Group and EH&S.
