Regional Oncology Liaison, France
Position Overview
The Regional Oncology Liaison is responsible for maximizing the potential of the product in key accounts while staying within budget in the defined region. Key activities include delivering selling messages, providing a high‑level of customer service to be a best‑in‑class assay provider, and solving challenging problems in a dynamic environment. The role requires a track record in oncology sales (ideally breast cancer) and existing contacts of private health‑care clinics/hospitals in this region; the individual will engage with physicians and KOLs to further develop sales in existing and new accounts. The liaison will build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and develop key‑account records to manage these relationships. Reporting to the Country Manager – France, the Regional Oncology Liaison will join a small start‑up organization, work autonomously, support the country manager with sales leads outside the region, and travel as necessary. The position is field‑based in France and covers several regions, which will be shared with candidates during the interview process.
Essential Duties
- Maximize the potential of the product in key accounts, staying within the assigned territory budget.
- Deliver selling messages and provide a high level of customer service to be a best‑in‑class assay provider.
- Engage with physicians and KOLs to further develop sales at existing and new accounts.
- Reach sales targets.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and develop key‑account records to manage these relationships.
- Establish and follow contracts for private clinics and public hospitals.
- Follow up on test payments.
- Support the Country Manager with sales leads outside the region, including necessary travel.
- Attend international and national conferences/meetings related to the French and European business and assist with the set‑up of exhibition booths.
Expected Areas of Competence
- Drive sales in the defined region.
- Manage and grow business in existing and new accounts, achieving sales goals.
- Give product presentations locally, attend relevant conferences/events in France and Europe, and assist with exhibition stands as needed.
- Attend regular training on the product.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science related to the essential duties.
- 5+ years of sales experience in promoting premium products.
- Strong record of success promoting complex products in medical oncology and/or diagnostics in the region; breast cancer preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and decision makers across the National Health System, including reimbursement.
- Strong knowledge of KOLs in the region, including oncologists, pathologists, procurement, and key decision makers.
- Proven large territory and key account management skills.
- Deep understanding and familiarity with clinical research and diagnostics in cancer.
- Excellent understanding of cancer care in the French public healthcare sector.
- Clean French driver’s license.
- Fluency in French.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Genomics and/or clinical experience.
- Strong business use of the English language.
- Experience in market access, marketing, leadership, training, or other non‑sales roles.
