Senior Project Controls Specialist (SrPCS)

Responsible for developing analytical systems for routine project controls assignments, including complex aspects of individual project estimating, forecasting, change analysis, and cost control. Supporting CAPEX projects in Hydro Generation, this role aids Project Managers on various ranked projects and programs in accordance with Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) assignment criteria. SrPCS leads or directs the set-up and review of project controls status (cost, contract, WBS, schedule, resource, etc.) and mentors PCS I/PCS II positions.

Basic Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Bachelors Degree in Finance
• Bachelors Degree in Project Management
• 5 years related work experience
• In lieu of degree and 5 years related work experience, HS Diploma and 9 years related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Utility Experience, Construction Management knowledge
• Software such as MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Passport, PowerPlan, Emax, Peoplesoft
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Risk Management, Project Leadership, Proven Collaborative Team Member

Working Conditions

• Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work performed from both remote and onsite locations after onboarding period.
• Hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy Hydro Generating Station.
• Hybrid employees required to work 2-3 days per week at a Hydro Generating Facility, Hydro Control Facility, or Corporate Headquarters.
