Ratings Analytical Intern - EMEA
Overview
When you join S&P Global Ratings, you become part of one of the world’s leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. You will help produce high‑quality fundamental research based on established criteria, ask probing questions, and engage with the global investor community.
About the Role
Grade Level: 05. The internship program starts on June 15, 2026 and will be based at the Frankfurt, Germany office.
What You Stand to Gain
- You will assist S&P Global in achieving its mission of providing the highest quality risk evaluations and analytical information.
- Summer interns work with junior and senior analysts and senior management of issuing entities through the ratings process, including ratings committees and management meetings.
- You will complete a group mock ratings committee project, conducting due diligence and research on an unrated company or entity to develop a suggested credit rating and present the recommendation to a Ratings Committee composed of senior business leaders.
- At the end of the internship, interns may be considered for the 2027 CREDit graduate program.

Responsibilities
- Learn and understand ratings criteria and methodology.
- Assist with preparing required documents for rating committee and issuer management meetings.
- Work with assigned summer intern project teams to successfully complete and present during mock ratings committee.
- Provide timely and accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis.
- Assist in reporting, research, presentations, and modelling.
- Utilize AI technologies to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights, integrating them into existing analytical frameworks.
- Support the team on improvement in execution and ad‑hoc writing projects.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process must attend at least one in‑person interview, typically at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
Basic Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate or undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study only. All majors welcome; preferred majors include Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Financial Engineering, Math, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, and Data and Statistics.
- Must reside in the location of the internship for its entire duration.
- Must have the right to work in the country of proposed employment.
- Adept with Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Able to learn quickly, multi‑task, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Problem‑solving, time‑management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Ability and desire to conduct own analysis and research, showing initiative and resourcefulness.
- Fluent command of English; fluency in the primary language of the country of application is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI technologies or tools, including Machine Learning algorithms, Natural Language Processing tools, and/or Robotic Process Automation.
