Railway Data sciences & AI Software Architect (W/M) 1

Purpose of the Job

Alstom Data Science and AI programs aims to develop, test, validate and industrialize data‑driven solutions in the mobility domain. The primary goal of these programs is to develop AI/ML software modules to improve customer performance and experience using existing and new data analytics, supported by advanced simulations and domain expertise, to extract key insights from mobility data using a variety of tools and techniques, including machine learning, statistical modeling and data visualization, and to contribute to the development of zero‑to‑hero analytics applications (from proof of concept to industrialization) in maintenance, operations, energy, and city flow domains.

Responsibilities

• Interface with different Data & AI teams to ensure global coherence in direction.
• Design efficient and reliable end‑to‑end solutions for various railway workflows/programs, in collaboration with technical teams.
• Support the technical lead of different programs on refactoring of applications.
• Provide concrete solutions to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Design architecture solutions for components, enhancing product scalability and reliability.
• Help ADAP/ADF platform teams design and implement solutions that automate infrastructure setup & verification and validation, and improve efficiency.
• Provide solutions to enhance product/platform security, in agreement with technical teams & external teams (cyber, D&IS Services).

Organizational Reporting

Hierarchically & functionally reports to the Head of Railway Data Sciences & AI solutions.

Educational, Technical & Soft Skills

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Effective experience in data architecture & data‑driven programs.
• Experienced in Python and its standard libraries; able to develop custom functions using Python for non‑standard data transformations.
• Good knowledge of components such as Kafka, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, Minio.
• Experience with dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Tableau, BI tools or equivalent.
• Knowledge of other programming languages such as Java and C# is preferable.
• Strong teamwork and dynamic personality.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• The job will be based in Saint‑Ouen, France.
