Purpose of the Job
Alstom's Data Science and AI programs develop AI/ML software modules to improve customer performance and experience across mobility domains. This role focuses on creating data‑driven solutions that enhance maintenance, operations, energy, and city flow systems, leading the path from proof of concept to industrialized applications.
Responsibilities
As a Railway Data AI Team member, the Software Architect will:
- Lead decision‑making on data architecture, ensuring alignment across Data & AI teams.
- Design efficient, reliable end‑to‑end solutions for railway workflows and programs.
- Support technical leads in refactoring applications and improving code quality.
- Provide concrete solutions to enhance scalability, reliability, and security of the product.
- Collaborate with ADAP/ADF platform teams to automate infrastructure setup, verification, and validation.
- Help improve product/platform security in partnership with internal and external cybersecurity teams.
Organizational Reporting
Hierarchically and functionally reports to the Head of Railway Data Sciences & AI solutions.
Educational, Technical & Soft Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Extensive experience in data architecture and data‑driven programs.
- Strong expertise in Python and its standard libraries.
- Ability to develop custom functions for non‑standard data transformations.
- Knowledge of Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, and Minio.
- Experience with dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Tableau, or equivalent BI tools.
- Familiarity with Java and C# preferred.
- Excellent teamwork, dynamic attitude, and strong communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Position based in Saint‑Ouen, France.
