Hourly rate

$26.00 - $34.00 per hour (based on experience)

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants to manage patient care tasks, including organization and communication.
• Use clinical judgment to provide health care services, applying X‑ray energy for diagnosis or treatment across all age groups.
• Prepare patients for examination, collect medical history, and perform vital signs; coordinate point‑of‑care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) as needed.
• Position patients accurately, sometimes assisting with wheelchair transport.
• Perform and analyze X‑ray studies, review images, and report findings to Providers.
• Maintain medical records, scan charts, and manage electronic documentation.
• Calibrate equipment, conduct daily quality controls, record logs, troubleshoot, and submit repair tickets.
• Support the medical team in selecting appropriate procedures and views for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide patient education about procedures and ensure comfort and safety.
• Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles.

Education

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.

Experience

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire – obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at hire.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required (if applicable by state law).

Essential Functions

• Perform X‑ray services under provider direction, ensuring proper patient positioning and equipment use.
• Safe patient handling, including wheelchair assistance when needed.
• Maintain quality control logs and facilitate preventive maintenance.

Patient Preparation and Rooming

• Inform technical staff of patient flow.
• Conduct interviews to verify patient information and medical history.
• Perform preliminary physical assessment and vital signs.
• Escalate critical cases to the provider and conduct point‑of‑care tests as required.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain medical records and convert paper charts to electronic files.
• Perform courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.
• Follow operating instructions for daily controls, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
• Submit repair tickets and keep quality assurance logs up to date.

Core Knowledge

• Proficiency in X‑ray procedures and protocols.
• Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging and body mechanics.
• Knowledge of radiology equipment and associated safety hazards.

Core Skills

• Accurate patient positioning for optimal imaging results.
• Identification and reporting of equipment problems.
• Adherence to infection control and radiological safety protocols.
