Position: Radio Engineer for the Michigan Public Safety Communication System (MPSCS). The role involves creating and managing radio programming templates and maintaining data for 44,401 radios across the Metro Region.
Responsibilities
- Build radio programming templates for all client radios in the Metro Region.
- Identify existing Radio IDs, Talkgroups, and Encryption requirements, and request new ones as needed.
- Use EAM, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel to compile, record, and make database entries into the EAM system and associated databases.
- Program radios and support other technical areas of the client as required.
Skills Required
- 3 years of experience as a Radio/Communications Technician.
- 2 years of experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood).
- FCC General Radio Telephone License, APCO Certificate, or an approved equivalent.
Skills Desired
- Military, Public Safety, or Radio Communications experience (excluding Network).
- Two‑way radio experience.
- Prior experience with P25 encryption/KMF (AES).
