R&D Project Manager with good knowledge of sourdough (M/F)

Your missions

Within our Research & Development department, you will support the development of new products and processes under the supervision of the R&D Director.

You will carry out trials for development projects through to the industrial transfer phase.

  • Collaborate with the R&D Director on the development of new products and processes (from design to launch);
  • Monitor, improve and innovate our sourdough range
  • Design and produce product prototypes;
  • Propose action plans and assess the needs and resources required to carry out projects (organization, scheduling, cross‑functional support, equipment…);
  • Define, organize and conduct trials in internal and external laboratories; analyze results and prepare reports;
  • Collaborate with various internal departments (Production, Quality, Maintenance, Packaging Development, Marketing…);
  • Participate in the industrialization process through production line trials until the defined objectives are achieved;
  • Actively participate in customer audits and certification processes;
  • Conduct market and technology monitoring (products, technologies, competitors…) and propose improvement ideas…

Your profile

  • Engineering degree or equivalent in Food Industry, with a specialization in product and/or process;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry is required (ideally in the bakery sector);
  • Skills in food microbiology are appreciated;
  • Proficient in IT tools (Office) and comfortable with software applications;
  • Strong team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Strong interest in hands‑on, field‑based projects;
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset;
  • Fluent spoken and written English is essential;
  • You are organized and methodical (planning, drafting protocols…), while demonstrating curiosity. Your ability to anticipate, prioritize and step back will be key assets for success in this role.
  • This position is offered on a permanent contract (CDI).
  • Compensation based on profile.

Originally specialized in baked bread production, we have been offering part‑baked breads in a protective atmosphere and frozen part‑baked breads since the 1980s. Today, our single production site produces no less than 160,000 tons of bread per year.

Our site is located 25 minutes from Valenciennes, Avesnes-sur-Helpe and Mons.
