The Clermont-Ferrand site, which is on a human scale, is dedicated to research, development and the creation of innovative industrial solutions in power electronics. At Punch Powertrain, the range of technical solutions is wide: Hybridization / Electrification of powertrains for the cars of tomorrow, Formula 1, Formula E, advanced Research and Technology. Our facilities (less than 3 years old with an extension already planned) are in the immediate proximity (less than 5' from the main means of communication: Train track / Airport / Highway). Our validation laboratory was designed by the engineers themselves. This is not the only tool you will find to implement your ideas: a pilot assembly line equipped with the same means as the largest production centers will be at your disposal. Our team of 60 people, young (mean age: 35), multicultural (7 nationalities), and dynamic, is made up mostly of experts. R&D Power Electronics Engineer
Job description
You will work in a multidisciplinary team developing our next generation of EV powertrains. You will work in our power electronics R&D center in Clermont Ferrand on the development of our inverters for automotive traction. You will be integrated into our product design teams where you will participate in:
- the design and justification of electronic functions based on powertrain specifications.
- the validation of functions, prototypes and products on our test benches.
You will prepare and participate in the integration, commissioning and validation of our product on the powertrain. You will be required to visit our engine test benches at our site in Belgium or at our customers' sites.
You will be interfacing between the different professions to work on the integration of the inverter, taking into account the software, the motor control and the EMC.
Profile
You have a background in power electronics with successful experience in the design / justification of power conversion functions based on MOSFET or IGBT components (ideally in the automotive field).
You are familiar with the main power conversion topologies and their operation.
You have knowledge of measurement science and experience in the use of measurement and development tools for electronics.
Knowledge of electric motor strategy and control laws is considered as an important asset for this position.
You will be self-sufficient and rigorous, and will be a major player in capitalization work, from design documentation to validation.
You have a good level of English, enabling you to hold a conversation with your colleagues and our customers.

You have excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability and creativity.
