R&D Engineer

• Organize and coordinate research or process improvement projects, from literature reviews through implementation and validation of results
• Address a wide range of challenges across the Group’s sites, particularly Lithium projects, in collaboration with operations teams, R&D experts, and external partners
• Develop innovative solutions in hydrometallurgy
• Lead laboratory- or pilot-scale trials
• Conduct semi-industrial operations
• Contribute to raising Eramet Ideas’ profile through Open Innovation initiatives
• Develop research programs, conduct targeted literature reviews and benchmarking, and build the technical knowledge required
• Design and conduct laboratory and pilot-scale trials, then validate and scale up the results to the industrial level, particularly during assignments on site
• Manage R&D projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and costs, while monitoring budgets and schedules
• Work with the relevant technicians, engineers, and experts
• Communicate results to clients and stakeholders through reports, presentations, and conferences
• Contribute to cross-functional R&D projects
• Support the development of safety and environmental practices at Eramet Ideas
• Supervise a small team of technicians, as required

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in a scientific field or an engineering degree
• PhD or equivalent experience preferred
• Early-career candidates are welcome to apply
• Strong interest in applied research, process improvement, and solving hydrometallurgy-related challenges
• Fluent English
• Spanish is a plus
• Ability to independently lead a research project, take initiative, and drive change
• Curiosity, analytical and synthesis skills, rigor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to travel in France and internationally to Eramet sites, suppliers and partners, or conferences, including assignments lasting several weeks, 1 to 5 times per year
