- About this position:
You will joinQuandela’sSemiconductor OpticsTeam, a multidisciplinary group combiningexpertisein quantum optics, spin physics, semiconductor technologies,electronicsand quantum information.
The team develops the building blocks required for future hybrid spin-photon quantum computing architectures, bridging quantum science, technology development and product-oriented demonstrators.
Inthisrole,youwillcontributetothedevelopmentand validation of photon-mediatedspin–spinentanglementprotocolswhileimprovingthe performance of spin-basedquantumsystems.
Current challenges include enhancing spin coherenceagainst decoherence,validatinghigh-fidelityspinqubit operations, developing advanced optical controltechniquesand strengthening theory-to-experiment feedback loops for future multi-spin architectures.
Beyond the scientific challenges, you will contribute tobuildingdemonstratorsthatwill directly becomepart of future quantum computing platforms. Success in this role relies on combining scientific rigor, collaborationacrossQuandelasproduction and researchdepartments.
- What you’ll do:
As a Quantum Optics Scientist, you will contribute to the development of spin-based quantum technologies supporting Quandela’s longterm quantum computing roadmap.
Yourworkwillinclude:
- Design,developandimprove opticalexperimentsinvolvingspin-photon sources .
- Develop and implement optical control schemes for spininitialization,readoutand characterization .
- Characterize keyspinproperties including coherence,operationfidelityandentanglementquality.
- Collaboratewiththeory,electronicsandsemiconductortechnologyteamstoimprovedeviceperformance andaccelerateexperimentalprogress.
- Contributingto thedevelopmentand validation of photon-mediatedspin–spinentanglementprotocols and future multi-spin architectures .
- Validateand translatescientific advances intorobusttechnological building blocks for futurehybridquantum computing systems.
- How You Will Grow:
Duringyourfirst 3months YouwillbecomefamiliarwithQuandela’sexperimentalplatforms, spin-control techniques andongoingdemonstratorprogramswhilecontributingtoexistingprojects.
Within6months Youwilltakeownershipofspecificscientificandexperimentalactivities,contributetoprotocoldevelopmentandactivelyparticipateintheory-to-experimentfeedbackloops.
Within1year Youwillplayakeyroleinadvancingdistributedentanglementdemonstrations,contributeoriginalideasandhelpshapefuturedevelopmentswithintheteam.
Requirements
- Ideal Profile:
- PhD inSpinPhysics, Quantum Optics, Spin-Photon interfaces in the solid stateorrelated fields.
- Hands-on experimental research experience in spin physics, quantum optics, semiconductor quantum systems, quantumemitters,or closely related areas.
- Experience developing,optimizing, and troubleshooting experimental quantum systems in a laboratory environment.
- Familiaritywithtechniquessuchas spincontrol,opticalmanipulation,coherencemeasurements, single-photoncharacterizationorrelatedexperimentalmethods.
- Comfortableworkingalongsidephysicists,engineersandtheoristsin amultidisciplinaryenvironment.
- Curious, collaborative andmotivatedbychallengingscientificandtechnologicalproblems.
