Quantum Optical Noise and Interferometry Evaluator
IXO needs analyses that connect quantum-optical algebra to measurable behavior. Assignments examine cascaded parametric amplifiers and interferometric systems, with particular attention to whether noise, loss and correlations have been modeled consistently.
Work you will do
- Model cascaded optical parametric amplifiers and SU(1,1) interferometers under realistic loss assumptions.
- Use Bogoliubov transformations and covariance matrices to assess quantum correlations and noise.
- Derive or review sideband photocurrent spectra for homodyne detection, checking the interpretation of the measured quantities.
- Inspect fictitious-beamsplitter loss models and apply hyperbolic squeeze-parameter identities to analyze entanglement and two-mode squeezing.
Preferred background
- PhD or equivalent experience in AMO physics, quantum optics or quantum-information science.
- Practical command of Bogoliubov transformations, covariance methods and quantum-noise calculations.
- Hands-on familiarity with homodyne sidebands and optical-loss models, and demonstrated use of squeeze-parameter identities.
- Frontier research on cascaded parametric amplifiers, SU(1,1) interferometry or two-mode squeezing.
Deliverables
A documented solution, audit or adjudication with assumptions, derived quantities, checks and defensible physical interpretation.
Location and schedule
Remote; assignment type follows subfield fit, methods experience and seniority. IXO will agree the actual deliverables and timing before work. Fixed hours and duration are not stated.
Pay and working terms
$85 $170/hr USD. IXO will agree the assignment scope, hourly rate, schedule and acceptance criteria before work begins. Work is a paid remote expert engagement; applying does not guarantee an assignment. Use only public, licensed or otherwise authorized material.
