Intern – Quantum Compilation Team
We are seeking an intern to join our quantum compilation team for a duration of six months starting in September. In this role, you will work closely with the compilation team to design and benchmark the implementation of logical gates from fault‑tolerant gadgets.
Responsibilities
- Design fault‑tolerant implementations of logical gates from fault‑tolerant gadgets
- Simulate and benchmark implementations to determine their overheads
- Summarize your findings in a written report and presentation
- Regularly present your work to the compilation team and potentially to adjacent teams, e.g., quantum error correction and quantum algorithms
Requirements
You are currently enrolled in the final year of a Master’s degree program or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Background in quantum information, quantum compilation, or related fields
- Proficient in Python
- Proficient in Git
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with classical algorithms (e.g., graph traversals) is a plus
- Familiarity with standard engineering best practices (e.g., testing, tooling, CI/CD) is a plus
