Job Description

Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes and products meet organizational, customer, and regulatory quality requirements. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer supports Quality Management Systems (QMS), conducts manufacturing and process audits, drives corrective action activities, and applies quality improvement methodologies to enhance product reliability and process performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with recognized quality standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Perform Quality Management System (QMS), manufacturing process, and internal/external audits using established auditing methods and techniques.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly, and related production operations, to ensure process capability and product conformity.
  • Apply statistical methods and Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead corrective action investigations and management activities using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa (Fishbone), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Analyze quality data, identify recurring issues, and implement process improvements to prevent defects and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Ensure products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and product integrity standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing quality engineering, quality assurance, or related quality roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management standards.
  • Experience with manufacturing process audits and QMS auditing techniques.
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, fabrication, assembly, or other manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in corrective action processes and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, Ishikawa/Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
