The IT QA Analyst is responsible for executing test cases and review of projects created and modified by the technology group. In this role, you will work collaboratively with internal IT and business users to ensure that new features work as intended. Analyzing system requirements and creating test cases and assisting with risk assessments is a key priority. Projects will involve interacting with clients, IT, and business operations personnel, as well as offshore teams. Attention to detail and thoroughness is a key prerequisite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently conducts quality assurance testing and analysis on custom applications and reporting technologies.
- Ensure that applications and systems function properly and according to business standards and end-user specifications and requirements.
- Manage multiple testing projects simultaneously and quickly adapt to testing new applications and systems.
- Participate in quality assurance testing and analysis on more complex or enterprise projects to ensure that the applications system functions.
- Script test cases for new release and regression testing of custom applications and reporting.
- Work with IT team members to resolve defects and retest applications.
- Help Operations personnel in understand the application and explaining test cases
- Create and track QA metrics for testing effectiveness
- Utilize Valeris’ values as the driving force behind the team’s success
- On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures
- Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4-yr college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years’ software testing experience, including test plan creation, defect tracking strongly preferred.
- Experience using Selenium or another automated testing/scripting platform.
- Ability to build and execute basic SQL queries a strong plus
- Working knowledge in the use of Jira or other Agile tools
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills and a thorough approach to problem solving.
- Able to read, write and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
