Python Repository Behavior Task Author

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate behavioral questions grounded in the execution of a Python codebase. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Trace the code paths relevant to a question and run focused checks to establish the actual behavior.
• Write repository-specific questions that require Python understanding and evidence rather than a superficial reading of names or comments.
• Provide reference answers, supporting execution details and deterministic assessment criteria.

Preferred background

• Three or more software-engineering years with substantial production Python, including investigation of unfamiliar repositories using execution evidence.
• Depth in imports, descriptors/metaclasses, event loops and async behavior, packaging and C-extension interfaces; relevant domains include type checking, developer tools, web frameworks and scientific libraries.
• Commit-level Git, containers, command-line workflows and precise technical English.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Pay and working terms

$140/task USD. Payment is for a completed task that meets the agreed acceptance criteria. The fee, task specification and revision requirements are agreed before work; an advertised time estimate does not determine payment. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
