Position Overview
The Scientist is responsible for leading research and innovation projects and supporting plant manufacturing requests that support product development for Syensqo Specialty Polymers for high growth markets.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrating strong technical depth in material science (physico‑chemistry) to ensure product development activities are technically rigorous, especially in radical polymerization of vinyl monomers. Experience in polymers processing or organic chemistry activities is a plus.
- Assisting in the review and monitoring of patent/scientific literature relevant to our products/technology. Bring innovative ideas and points of view to enlarge tuning of our portfolio products.
- Leading the scale‑up of recipes from research to commercial scale working in close collaboration with Process Technology, HSE and Manufacturing Functions.
- Providing technical support to improve current products and technologies in collaboration with Process Technology and Manufacturing Functions.
- Demonstrating Project Management skills.
- Working with Sales/Marketing/Customer Technical Development, Customers, and Suppliers to support the development of new products.
- Providing technical support to ongoing plant operations and helping with problem solving.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Ph.D. in Material Science, preferably in Polymer Chemistry or related fields. Additional background in organic chemistry or polymer processing is a plus.
- Experience in developing materials for advanced applications such as high‑barrier materials or high‑performance packaging.
- 0‑3 years experience.
