Purchasing Manager / Buyer for Primary Flight Controls (m/f)
Job Description
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Purchasing Manager (M/F/D, Buyer) for Primary Flight Controls to join the Equipment Systems A‑F Team based in Toulouse, France. The role involves shaping the supplier landscape, developing new business models, negotiating key commercial contracts, and delivering innovative products and services to Airbus customers in a complex, technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Define, negotiate and manage contracts throughout the full life cycle of the products.
- Ensure compliance between contract terms and conditions and the activities conducted by suppliers and Airbus.
- Lead the commercial negotiations, including Calls for Tenders, and develop end‑to‑end business solutions that influence Airbus cost, revenue and EBIT contribution.
- Build and maintain professional, trusting relationships with suppliers worldwide, upholding the company’s ethics and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Programs, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&T Community, Legal, Finance, Customer Services) to align on the big picture for the perimeter.
- Support specific development projects for future programs and technology, such as eAction, including commercial aspects and engagement with existing and new supply chain partners.
- Serve as the lead buyer for a key PEA supplier, reporting to the VP Procurement Avionics, Cockpit & Flight Controls Systems.
Qualifications
- Strong project‑management skills, including stakeholder management.
- Extensive knowledge of contracts and legal frameworks, and experience in negotiations and supplier relationship management.
- Background in procurement or equivalent experience managing external stakeholders.
- High level of autonomy combined with a team‑player mindset.
- Basic technical knowledge of aircraft systems (asset).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a general business mindset.
- Excellent communication, persuasion and influencing skills; able to present complex topics to senior leadership.
- Proficiency in English at the negotiation level; additional languages are a bonus.
