Job Description Summary

JOB PURPOSE Based on the activities assigned by his/her superiors, the Purchasing Manager implements the purchasing strategy. He/she optimizes his/her activity and ensures the development of the supplier portfolio within his/her scope, in order to meet product and/or service requirements.

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES

  • Strategy - Participate in defining purchasing strategy, in collaboration with line management
  • Strategy - Manage and implement purchasing strategy, in collaboration with specifiers (sales and marketing teams, etc.)
  • Strategy - Optimize and rationalize the supplier portfolio (number, costs, CSR performance, etc.) and monitor supplier risks
  • Strategy - Monitor business performance indicators (addressable perimeter, satisfaction rate, number of suppliers, service rate, CSR, etc.) and alert where necessary
  • Strategy - Contribute to the continuous improvement of its activity (procedures, audits, tools, etc.)
  • Sourcing - Contribute to defining needs with specifiers (specifications, etc.)
  • Sourcing - Participate in the selection of suppliers, in collaboration with specifiers
  • Sourcing - Supervise and monitor consultations and/or invitations to tender, based on need
  • Sourcing - Analyze the market (market indices, etc.) and monitor it to identify new opportunities (regulatory, standards, needs, suppliers, etc.)
  • Development - Define and negotiate purchasing conditions (rates, volumes, lead times, CSR conditions, etc.) with suppliers
  • Development - Negotiate and validate contracts with suppliers (framework agreements, partnerships, etc.), in collaboration with legal teams
  • Development - Be a privileged contact and ensure commercial relations (compliance with contracts, etc.) with suppliers and service providers
  • Development - Contribute à the resolving of disputes (suppliers, service providers), in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Development - Participate in the implementation and ensure the proper use of purchasing tools (contract libraries, catalogs, etc.)
  • Development - Participate in the development of a purchasing community (best practices, synergies, etc.)
  • Management - Ensure that resources (means, human resources, etc.) are correctly sized for the activity, in collaboration with line management
  • Management - Support and monitor the team(s) assigned to him/her (integration, skills development, etc.)
  • Management - Participate in the application of HR policy (performance, compensation, etc.) in collaboration with human resources teams
  • Management - Manage, monitor and control the working hours and absences of the team(s) assigned to it (hours worked, vacations, calendar, etc.), using business tools where necessary

  • Ensure the implementation and application of purchasing strategy
  • Ensure the monitoring and achievement of objectives within the scope of responsibility
  • Ensure the quality of data entered into business tools
  • Contribute to the management of disputes within the scope of responsibility
  • Know, apply and enforce internal and external compliance procedures and rules

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE DIPLOMA(S) AND/OR EXPERIENCE(S)

5 years' higher education in purchasing and/or 5 years' significant experience preferred

  • Technical skill(s) - In-depth knowledge of purchasing (supplier relations, purchasing processes, etc.)
