About the Role

Ossett Academy are seeking to appoint a proactive and resilient Pupil Services officer to join our dynamic Pastoral department. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the wider Pastoral, Behaviour and Inclusion Team, supporting pupils to meet our Standards for Success. They will ensure that these high expectations are maintained and provide efficient administrative support to underpin pastoral processes and interventions.

The Pupil Services Officer will be a key face of the Academy, driving success by providing a welcoming and visible presence for pupils each morning. The role will involve supporting pupils to meet our high expectations, including ensuring they are in the correct uniform and equipped and ready to learn, while promoting and maintaining these standards throughout the school day. Working closely with our Pastoral Year Leaders (PYLs), the ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to the wider Pastoral Team, responding effectively to live incidents as they arise both in lessons and across the Academy site; they will work directly with teaching staff and pupils to foster a positive, safe and productive learning environment.

The postholder will also support pupil welfare and safeguarding processes through the completion of welfare checks in liaison with the Attendance Officer. In addition, they will play an active role in the wider life of the Academy, demonstrating a commitment to attending and supporting key events, including Parents' Evenings, celebration and rewards events, and whole-school showcases.

This position is temporary for up to one year in the first instance.

About You

The successful candidate will be…

• Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Experienced in providing high-quality administrative support within a busy environment.
• Able to effectively manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
• Knowledgeable about data protection legislation and the importance of maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Proactive, organised and resilient, with a flexible approach to supporting the needs of the Academy.
• Committed to promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and pupil wellbeing.
