Public Health/Epidemiology & Biostatistics Intern – Final Year Engineering/Master Student

As a member of the Data Science team, you will contribute to the execution of real‑world (observational) patient studies for our clients, including pharmaceutical companies, medical technology companies, biotechnology companies, medical device manufacturers, and medical researchers.

Working closely with experienced data scientists and project managers, your responsibilities will include:

Participating in the conduct of prospective observational studies based on data collected directly from patients

• Supporting the design of studies and questionnaires: drafting survey questions and defining response options based on client needs
• Programming and launching online questionnaires on the Carenity platform
• Monitoring fieldwork and response rates:
  • Tracking study progress
  • Coordinating with internal teams and supporting participant recruitment efforts
• Processing and analyzing data:
  • Data cleaning and preparation
  • Statistical analysis using R
• Contributing to study deliverables:
  • Preparing study reports and presentations
  • Supporting the development of insights and client recommendations
  • Participating in the presentation of results

Contribution to internal projects

Depending on your interests and initiative, you will also contribute to internal data and product initiatives, such as:

• Improving and developing R scripts and packages
• Building internal data tools and analytical workflows
• Enhancing data visualization

Qualifications

• Final‑year student from a top engineering school, or a Master's student specializing in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail
• Good knowledge of statistics (descriptive analysis, basic modeling)
• Proficiency in R is required
• Comfortable working with data (data cleaning, manipulation, analysis)
• Fluent in English, with strong written communication skills in both English and French
• Proactive, organized, and eager to learn
• Interest in healthcare, life sciences, or real‑world data
