Job Overview
The AXA Group is a global leader in financial protection. The Public Affairs Analyst in Paris supports the company’s strategy by monitoring public policy developments, providing analysis, and fostering relationships with stakeholders. The role is part of the Group Public Affairs department which reports to the Group General Secretary and Deputy CEO.
Core Activities
- Monitoring and understanding public policy developments and trends.
- Facilitating a common understanding of policy developments for AXA with a focus on business and operational impacts by drafting policy notes.
- Identifying policy priorities.
- Supporting AXA decision‑making to anticipate policy developments and adapt for upcoming changes.
- Building AXA positions and developing outreach strategy.
- Projecting AXA as a fair and reliable partner in public policy.
- Ensuring AXA’s views are reflected in public policy, regulatory circles, and industry bodies.
- Facilitating contact between AXA management and policy makers.
- Ensuring consistency of AXA messages.
Qualifications
Technical and professional skills:
- Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs, responsibilities include identifying and following up on major European and international regulatory developments.
- Building, developing, and defending Group’s position on regulatory issues both internally and externally.
- Drafting clear and concise briefings and background papers.
- Building relationships with key AXA Group functions and external stakeholders such as the European Commission, European Parliament, EIOPA, IAIS, French Treasury, ACPR, Insurance Europe, Pan European Insurance Forum, Institute of International Finance, Geneva Association, CFO/CRO Forum, and peer public affairs teams.
- Strong communication skills in French and English.
- Relational skills to create and maintain an internal and external network.
Managerial skills: No direct management, but ability to coordinate transverse contributors.
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience.
- Understanding of the insurance sector within the financial system and differences with banking and asset management.
- Technical expertise in economics, finance, risk management, legal or public law.
- International experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of the legislative cycle and law‑making processes.
- Reliability and strong team spirit.
