Propulsion Intern – AMBER Space Tech (Toulouse)
By joining Alpha Impulsion as an intern in the Toulouse office, you will participate in the development of AMBER, Alpha Impulsion's small scale autophage demonstrator for suborbital flight and in-space propulsion. This offer is maintained open for any internship starting within the next 8 months.
Your first project here
Alpha Impulsion is developing a small-scale engine for its demonstrator AMBER. Its goal is to derisk technologies to be used in the future OPAL engine for in-space activities & GARNET engine for launch vehicles. The results of this demonstration might change the way mini launchers are built, demonstrating performance up to twice that of current propulsion technologies.
Your responsibilities
Multiple intern positions are open at any time in Alpha Impulsion, covering the following topics :
Propulsion design, contributing to the thermal & mechanical design (with FEM analysis) of propulsive elements such as the combustion chamber, injector, fluid line, thermal protection combustible fuselage, turbomachinery, etc.
Testing, helping with test plannification, CONOPS definition, data acquisition, assembly/rehearsal, and conducting preliminary tests and engine test firing.
Systems engineering , coordinating the technical work of various departements, ensuring constraints/requirements are validated, and conducting system-level or subsystem level trade studies.
Mission analysis , refining high level objectives to help define flight paths, flight environments, and preliminary requirements of flight subsystems, including the autophage engine.
