Project “In vitro study of the chelation of radionuclides by a functionalized polymer (PsD 25-05) H/F
Posting date: 1 day ago. Contract type: Post‑doctorat. Availability: 05/01/2026. Location: Fontenay‑aux‑Roses, Ile‑de‑France, Hauts‑de‑Seine (92).
Mission
- Conduct in‑vitro chelation studies of radionuclides (uranium, plutonium, thorium, americium, neptunium, polonium) and stable isotopes (cesium, cobalt, strontium) using the functionalized polymer MEX‑CD1.
- Design experiments with synthetic media that mimic different gastrointestinal compartments (stomach, small intestine, colon) at varying pH values (2; 4.5; 8) and presence or absence of interfering cations.
- Perform ultrafiltration to evaluate chelation rates under thermostated conditions (37 °C). Analyze filtrate and concentrate fractions by ICP‑MS, alpha or gamma spectrometry.
- Analyze experimental data, prepare comprehensive reports, and write peer‑reviewed scientific manuscripts.
- Prepare and present talks, posters, and reports at internal and external seminars and meetings.
- Collaborate closely with research engineers, laboratory staff, and external partners (Nano‑H, ILM, IMP, LAGEPP, Institut Gustave Roussy, ASNR).
Qualifications
- PhD in physical chemistry, coordination chemistry, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in metal complexation, chelation, coordination chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or radiochemistry.
- Track record of leading authorship in peer‑reviewed scientific literature.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; experience presenting at conferences.
- High organisational, interpersonal skills, and ability to function within a multidisciplinary team.
Benefits & Additional Information
- Regular remote work possible (telecommuting).
- Occasional travel within France and abroad for conferences and collaborations.
