Project Finance & Investment Manager

Leap29 is supporting a leading renewable energy platform in the search for a Project Finance Associate to join its financing team in Paris.

The team is looking for a mid-level Project Finance professional with 5–8 years of experience, ideally gained either within an IPP / renewable energy developer or on the lender side within a bank or financial institution.

The ideal candidate will have strong transaction execution and financial modelling experience, with exposure to solar PV and ideally BESS / battery storage projects.

The Role

You will work closely with the investment, finance and development teams on the structuring, execution and refinancing of renewable energy projects and portfolios, with a particular focus on solar and energy storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Structure and execute project and portfolio financings across solar PV and BESS assets.
• Build and maintain sophisticated project finance and portfolio financial models for debt sizing, refinancing, investment analysis and downside scenarios.
• Support transactions from initial structuring and lender outreach through to financial close.
• Analyse leverage, DSCR, cash flows, debt capacity, covenant headroom and downside resilience.
• Support the negotiation of senior debt financing and refinancing facilities with banks and other financing partners.
• Work closely with lenders, financial advisors, legal counsel and other external stakeholders throughout transaction processes.
• Review and negotiate key financing terms, including cash sweeps, distribution lock-ups, reserve requirements, covenants and cure rights.
• Support the refinancing and optimisation of existing renewable energy portfolios.
• Assess liquidity and funding requirements at both project and platform level.
• Contribute to financing documentation, including representations and warranties (R&W) and other relevant transaction provisions.
• Support investment and financing committees with detailed financial analysis.
• Take ownership of modelling and transaction workstreams while working closely with senior members of the team.

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance or Renewable Energy Finance.
• Experience gained at an IPP, renewable energy developer/investor, bank, lender or debt fund.
• Strong understanding of project finance structures, debt financing and credit analysis.
• Excellent financial modelling skills, ideally with experience building complex models from scratch.
• Proven experience with solar PV financing.
• Exposure to BESS / battery storage financing would be highly advantageous.
• Experience across debt sizing, refinancing, downside analysis and financial structuring.
• Comfortable working directly with lenders and other transaction counterparties.
• Exposure to R&W / representations and warranties is desirable.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to take ownership of transactions and work effectively in a lean team environment.
