Project Engineer – Biogas - Brittany, France

A well-established and growing anaerobic digestion engineering company is looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to join its construction team in Brittany, France .

With over two decades of experience delivering agricultural biogas facilities, the company has built a strong reputation for designing, supplying and commissioning high-quality anaerobic digestion systems. Due to continued project growth, they are looking for an engineer who enjoys being close to the action, working alongside construction teams, technicians and clients to successfully deliver projects.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the technical delivery of biogas projects from detailed engineering through to commissioning. Acting as the link between the engineering office, site teams, subcontractors and clients, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role combining office-based engineering with regular travel to project sites across France.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of anaerobic digestion projects from engineering through commissioning.
  • Manage technical interfaces between engineering, construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Support installation, commissioning and site acceptance activities.
  • Review technical documentation, drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets and schedules.
  • Resolve technical issues during construction.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise directly with customers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with quality standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects and thrives in a practical engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Around 5+ years' experience in Project Engineering, Project Management or a similar role.
  • Experience within biogas, anaerobic digestion, renewable energy, industrial process, mechanical or environmental engineering .
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout France.
  • Full driving licence.

Experience with agricultural biogas projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
