Project Engineer
Project Engineer – Dimensional and Visual Testing at Westinghouse Electric Company
Location: Villejust (91) or Marseille (13), France. Reports to the Head of Inspection France; functionally to a Project Manager.
Overview
As a Project Engineer you will be part of an innovative group whose core mission is to deliver clean energy solutions. The role supports the European Inspection platform in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The position may evolve into a technical referent and/or expert role based on profile. You may travel to workshops, nuclear sites in France or abroad, or client premises, and may work in shifts and/or on weekends depending on projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct studies related to the development and implementation of NDT methods.
- Lead the development of dimensional and visual inspection processes, with potential expansion to other NDT methods (UT, RT, ET, etc.).
- Draft bilingual documentation required for projects (Specifications, Technical Justifications, Inspection Procedures, etc.).
- Lead and/or perform development and qualification testing of processes.
- Train field personnel prior to operations on nuclear sites.
- Provide technical supervision during operations and manage associated deviations.
- Participate in technical and commercial bids.
- Based on profile, evolve into a technical referent and/or expert role.
- Based in Villejust or Marseille with travel as needed to workshops, nuclear sites in France or abroad, or client premises.
- Depending on projects, may work in shifts and/or on weekends.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (Bac+5) with a technical focus.
- Expertise in NDT/END and knowledge in physical measurements and materials.
- Significant experience in metrology (manual dimensional inspections, 3D measurements, uncertainty calculations, control jig design, etc.).
- Significant experience in visual weld inspections, both direct and remote.
- VT and/or PT Level 2 certification; additional Level 2 and/or Level 3 certifications per ISO 9712 are assets.
- At least 5 years of experience in NDT within high safety/security environments.
- Experience in the nuclear sector and with EDF is a plus.
- Autonomous, meticulous, and capable of teamwork with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Bilingual in French and English; proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
