Job Overview

I am currently looking for a Project Director to join my client on an international project in French Guiana directing a Solar and BESS project on an interim contract.

The client is interested in candidates with 10+ years project management experience, a background in an oil and gas and 2+ projects managed. French and English speaking is a must.

The client is ideally looking for experience covering initiation to completion project management, covering both project development from concept, engineering, design, procurement and construction onsite.

The client works on many international projects, having operations in multiple sites throughout the EU and world. They are happy with client side, consultancy or EPC company backgrounds.

Project Details

START : August 2026 – June 2028, beginning with a six-month probationary contract

RATES : Competitive, Experience Dependent

LOCATION : Cayenne, French Guiana

1 week on project site and remainder of month in head office in French Guiana

The role is based in French Guiana, French is required and an experience working on EPC projects in European markets is preferred.

Project Director

• 10+ years’ experience covering project delivery, planning, budgeting, execution and handover
• Experience with contract negotiation, cost management and sub-contract management.
• Ideally electrical engineering and projects experience, covering any of the following - energy, power generation or renewable sector is most applicable.
• Management of projects from €10 - €40 Million Euros per project
• Project management for a broad range of projects/equipment/CAPEX/OPEX packages
• Knowledge of national and international projects structures, SME or operator background.
• English and French professional fluency is a must.
• Internal and external stakeholder management
• Happy to work on a hands‑on basis, work in the office, client side and visiting construction work sites.

Responsibilities and Scope

The client requires senior project managers who can work with the existing team, supporting the projects specifications from concept, set up project team structures, coordinating with engineering and construction functions, managing packages to construction, supporting contracts and quality.

The role will also cover either single or a portfolio of projects to deliver at any one time.

The company is growing, they are looking to continue their developing in the coming years, and this role is an essential part of this process.
