Your Mission

As a Production Automation Architect , you directly support FAL production by solving technical issues and driving improvement. You participate in defining, developing, and validating any automation software needed for serial production or qualification campaigns of the Arrow FAL lines (current and future).

You work in collaboration with Design engineering, ACS/ADS, and customer teams to define the FAL design and manufacturing processes, and you improve the ACS product offering in terms of manufacturing and assembly operations. You specify and manage validation procedures for integrated FAL stations, including automation parts, Smart Tool integration, Lynx, and related sequences. You also define mechanical routing for nominal AIT flows and out‑of‑standing flows, and you function as the technical interface for all automation activities within MEET.

Your Day to Day

  • Support SCADA development linked to manufacturing routing to assemble and test satellites.
  • Analyse and implement corrective actions on all non‑conformance (NC) on mechanical/assembly topics related to FAL station automation or SCADA.
  • Train FAL operators on assembly processes and station usage.
  • Ensure any FAL development (programming) matches FAL manufacturing requirements and assembly flow.
  • Define any technical choice relative to automation.
  • Serve as the technical interface for automation activities within MEET, handling definition, improvement, and anomaly resolution.
  • Implement and maintain automatic sequences within a configuration approach.
  • Act as the technical interface regarding any Automation SW supplier.
  • Develop, improve, validate, and maintain SCADA/HMI applications.
  • Support configuration of developed versions.

Your Profile

  • Education: degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • Satellite manufacturing experience appreciated.
    • Experience in mechanical or production engineering appreciated.
    • Ability to interact with a skilled engineering team across specialties (Mechanical, Process, tooling, test).
  • Soft skills:
    • Rigor, organization, project management, good communication, ability to convince, analytical synthesis, transversal management.
    • Strong organisational, analytical, root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills.
    • Ability to interact with multiple organisations (Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Finance, HR).
  • Technical skills:
    • Industrial architecture knowledge (centralised/decentralised), IO knowledge, industrial pneumatic/electric drawing understanding, sensors/actuator knowledge.
    • PLC automation programming: Ladder (Rockwell Automation CompacLogix 5310/5306 via Studio5000).
    • Supervision (AVEVA System platform).
    • Standard communication protocols: OPC DA/UA, socket, web services (Ethernet TCP/IP).
    • Database management (Microsoft SQL Server).
    • SCADA: Wonderware system platform (InTouch VBA, .NET, C#, VB.NET).
    • Software development: Microsoft Visual Studio Web.
    • Web services (C#) and web applications (C#).
    • Knowledge of specific systems appreciated:
      • Smart tools: Desoutter.
      • Geolocation: Sarissa.
      • Automated inspection: Lynx system.
      • KUKA cobot.
      • Control/metrology: Handyscan.
    • Configuration/production management software: SAP.
    • Digital sequence of assembly: SolidWorks Composer.
    • Mechanical engineering, assembly/manufacturing process, GSE design and validation experience appreciated.
