About the role

Datadog is seeking a strategic lead to manage product vision, mergers and acquisitions, and venture investments across the EMEA region.

You will work alongside founders and engineering leadership to identify growth opportunities and bridge the gap between our Paris and New York headquarters.

What you'll do

• Monitor market trends in AI, machine learning, observability, security, and cloud infrastructure to shape growth strategy.
• Identify and evaluate M&A targets and venture investment opportunities, focusing on infrastructure and AI-native companies.
• Cultivate relationships with founders, venture capitalists, and accelerators in London, Paris, and the Iberian region to build a proprietary deal pipeline.
• Manage the full lifecycle of transactions, including technical due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and integration planning.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to assess technical architecture, product fit, and team quality.
• Negotiate complex deals and present strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of professional experience in venture capital, corporate development, product management, or engineering at a high-growth technology firm.
• Strong technical background, such as a computer science degree, prior engineering experience, or significant experience in AI/infrastructure investing.
• Proven AI literacy, including active use of AI tools and the ability to evaluate the technical merit of AI-native organizations.
• Experience operating within European tech ecosystems, specifically London, Paris, or Iberia.
• Ability to work with high autonomy and limited oversight in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Capability to communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from startup founders to C-suite executives.

• Background at an AI-native company, such as building or investing in applied AI, LLM tooling, or AI infrastructure.
