About the Role

Product Manager for Short Term Trading and Market Communication. The role reports to the Head of European Products, manages a team of Product Owners and ensures alignment between market needs, regulatory evolution, and the development of high‑value product initiatives. The manager combines market expertise, structured product leadership, and cross‑team coordination to keep Energy One’s short‑term trading and market communication capabilities competitive, scalable, and fully integrated within the wider product ecosystem.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in product management or business analysis in energy trading, energy markets or SaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of European short‑term power and gas markets, including intraday trading, balancing mechanisms and market communication protocols.
• Experience managing or mentoring Product Owners or similar functional roles.
• Ability to translate complex operational workflows into clear functional requirements.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and commercial audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a structured and prioritised manner.
• Fluency in English.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with SaaS or PaaS architectures and cloud‑based solutions.
• Familiarity with energy market APIs, communication protocols or data platforms.
• Understanding of algorithmic trading concepts or automated bidding workflows.
• Experience working across international and distributed teams.
• Knowledge of Agile product management practices and tools.
• Ability to interpret regulatory frameworks and assess their product impact.
• Additional European languages.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of Product Owners, ensuring clarity of priorities, alignment, and high‑quality product delivery.
• Contribute to and help shape the roadmap for short‑term trading and market communication within the broader European product portfolio.
• Translate market, regulatory and customer requirements into structured product initiatives and high‑level specifications.
• Lead discovery, functional definition and refinement activities, ensuring Product Owners have the context and support needed to drive initiatives.
• Collaborate across Europe and the UK to ensure coherent product delivery and functional integration across the full solution suite.
• Monitor trends, market changes and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Serve as subject matter expert for short‑term trading processes, balancing workflows and market communication mechanisms.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights, validate assumptions and prioritise enhancements.
• Support product marketing activities, including value proposition refinement and go‑to‑market preparation.
• Maintain clear documentation of product decisions, specifications and roadmap contributions.
