Product Line Manager – Inertial Systems for Defense

Mission

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Product Manager to lead our Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) product line for defense applications. This position sits at the heart of SBG’s fastest-growing segment, driven by rising defense budgets, the increasing use of electronic warfare, and emerging military doctrines such as saturation weapons and cost-asymmetric strategies. SBG’s compact and sovereign MEMS-based IMUs have proven to be highly competitive in this environment, offering an optimal balance of performance, SWaP, and cost.

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of technology and business, acting as half system engineer, half business driver. You will combine deep technical knowledge of IMUs and GNC systems with strategic product management responsibilities, working closely with senior leadership and C-level executives to shape product direction, identify market opportunities, and support programs with Tier-1 defense manufacturer. You will contribute directly to the development of our offerings for defense manufacturers, build technical expertise, define product strategy and roadmap, and support customers throughout evaluation and selection processes, including tenders and specific development programs.

This position will require travels, up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Gather and synthesize customer and internal feedback to guide product decisions and prioritize R&D developments.
  • Define and maintain the product roadmap; oversee the full product lifecycle.
  • Work with Marketing to select the most effective tools and channels to promote SBG solutions.

Technical & Customer Expertise

  • Advise and challenge customers regarding their GNC architecture to ensure optimal system design.
  • Lead technical responses to tenders for major defense accounts.
  • Contribute to customer projects involving custom developments or joint qualification efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships supporting next generation solutions.

Sales & Market Support

  • Support the sales team through customer meetings, technical presentations, and competitive positioning.
  • Assist field application engineers with the most advanced customer cases.
  • Promote SBG solutions through industry events, trade shows, webinars, and other communication channels.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education.
  • 5 years of experience in GNC system design for defense applications (missiles, rockets, UAVs)
  • Experience or familiarity with vibration, shock, and thermal testing relevant to defense platforms
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge technical decisions with customers and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of GNSS technologies is a plus.
  • At ease with scripting languages such as Python is appreciated
  • Comfortable working in English in an international environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly

Employment conditions

  • Permanent contract
  • Location: Carrières-sur-Seine, France
  • Salary: €50,000 – €75,000 per year
  • Benefits: Profit-sharing bonus (PEE - PERECO), meal vouchers, up to 2 days of remote work per week
