My client is looking for a Product/Lead Design System consultant to lead the evolution of this “internal product” within the Design Studio (20 designers). Your role is to ensure scalability, visual consistency, and operational excellence across our 30+ squads. To support your onboarding, you will benefit from a knowledge transfer with the current Lead for a duration of 2 to 3 months, until full ownership of the role.
Responsibilities
- Own the Design System vision, define the long‑term strategy, and deliver a clear product roadmap while adhering to governance, delivery standards and the client brand.
- Ensure sustainability of the system by managing the backlog of new components and updates to existing patterns.
- Coordinate the development team dedicated to component integration (2 full‑time Angular developers) and ensure alignment between design and code.
- Establish alignment rituals with a panel of users (designers and developers) during design phases to ensure the system meets real user needs.
- Work closely with UI designers to ensure the quality, consistency, and continuous update of the associated Design Kit.
- Collaborate with the Design Ops Lead, UX/UI teams, and developers to integrate feedback and anticipate future needs.
- Promote adoption of the Design System within the Factory and support business teams through change (demos, release orchestration, support/maintenance).
- Collect and analyse system usage data, define performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the real impact of the Design System on product velocity and quality.
