Product Engineer
We’re building the FinOps Assistant we wish we had as large cloud clients. After managing multi-million dollar budgets across GCP, AWS, and Datadog , we know how painful cloud cost management can be. FinOps often falls on senior engineers, forced to manually monitor costs and investigate spikes with little context.
We believe FinOps and engineering teams shouldn’t waste time digging through billing consoles and dashboards. LLMs alone won’t solve anomaly detection or cost allocation —the real challenge is adding context to messy billing data. That’s why we’re building an agent that correlates costs with technical and product events , explains changes, and surfaces insights directly where teams work , so they can focus on optimization.
Long-term, our vision is to shift FinOps left , just like SecOps. Engineers should understand cost impact as they build , not after the fact. Costory becomes their co-pilot—helping them make smarter trade-offs between performance, reliability, and cost early in the development cycle .
Your Mission:
As a founding member, you won't just be executing a roadmap; you will be drawing it. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, customer discovery, and product strategy. This is a path for someone who eventually wants to transition into a Product role as we scale.
What You’ll Do
Bridge the Gap: Translate complex cloud infrastructure data (GCP, AWS, Azure) into an intuitive product experience that "just works" for engineers.
Customer Discovery: Conduct calls with users, identify their deepest pain points, and turn those insights into shipped features.
Customer Centric: understand the customer needs and help the team shape the roadmap.
Shape the Vision: Influence the long-term roadmap. You’ll decide which product trade-offs we make to deliver the most value to our users.
Be the Voice of the Engineer: Since you've managed cloud infra before, you'll ensure our product stays "dev-centric." You'll build the integrations (Slack, Teams, MCP) that bring FinOps to where engineers actually work.
Frontend: React, Mantine UI, TanStack Query (React Query).
Analytics: PostHog
Your Profile
Cloud/DevOps DNA: You have professional experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/ Azure) even better working as a designated finops. You know what a NAT Gateway cost spike feels like.
Product-Minded: You don't just ask "How do I build this?" but "Why are we building this?" and "Is there a simpler way to solve the user's problem?"
Extreme Ownership: You are responsible, autonomous, and comfortable with the ambiguity of a "0 to 1" startup.
Communication: You can explain complex cloud billing concepts to a CFO and technical architecture to an engineer with equal clarity.
What We Offer
Real Ownership: You won't be fetching coffee; you'll be shipping code to production in your first week.
Mentorship: A collaborative and supportive team culture.
High-Growth Environment: Learn how to scale a product from 0 to 1.

Your Mission:
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for building the interfaces and APIs that turn complex cloud data into intuitive, actionable stories. You’ll bridge the gap between our data engine and the end-user, ensuring that a DevOps lead or a CFO can understand their cloud spend in seconds.
What You’ll Be Working On
Project 1: The Ultimate FinOps Interface
The Goal: Ship features that make Costory the most intuitive FinOps tool available.
The Focus: You will work on reducing "Time to Information." You'll build high-performance UI to turn massive datasets into clear, actionable insights. Your mission is to make complex cloud billing feel "easy" for the end-user and the most intuitive.
Project 2: Ecosystem & Agent Integrations
The Goal: Ensure our users don't lose a second "doing" FinOps by bringing the data to them.
The Focus: You will build and ship integrations for Slack, Microsoft Teams, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) . You’ll leverage Node.js, Prisma, and LLM APIs to push critical cost alerts and automated reports directly into the tools engineers and finance teams already use daily.
Frontend: React, Mantine UI, TanStack Query (React Query).

What We’re Looking For
1+ Year of Experience: You have at least one year of professional experience (including long-term internships or apprenticeships) building and maintaining full-stack web applications.
TypeScript Proficiency: You are comfortable working in a type-safe environment across the frontend and backend.
Frontend Savvy: You have a solid grasp of React and state management. Experience with TanStack Query (React Query) and UI libraries like Mantine is a significant plus.
Backend Foundations: You understand how to design RESTful APIs in Express and have experience modeling data using an ORM (ideally Prisma ).
The "Builder" Mindset: You are proactive, take ownership of your features, and prefer shipping over perfectionism.
Startup Ready: You’re excited about the fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment of a young company.
What We Offer
Real Ownership: you'll be shipping features to production in your first week.
High-Growth Environment: Help scale a product from 0 to 1.
Remote Policy: at least 10 days per month at the office
