Our mission

Banking belongs in business software

Many software companies already serve small businesses incredibly well: helping them send invoices, run payroll, manage inventory, and more. They’re on a mission to become the central hub for managing every aspect of business life.

But when it comes to financial workflows, there’s still a gap. Too many critical tasks like managing cash flow, tracking payments, or reconciling accounts happen outside the software, across spreadsheets, email threads, banking portals.

It’s a missed opportunity. Business software shouldn’t just record financial activity — it should run it.

Job description

Swan is seeking a Product Designer Apprentice to join its Product team and contribute to building the simplest and most elegant BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) on the market.

The Design team's mission is to make it easy for our partners — often new to the banking sector — to integrate complex payment services into their products. As an apprentice, you'll do real product design work : collaborating with cross-functional squads, shaping features, and improving experiences across our API and interfaces.

✨ Your mission

  • Design banking features end-to-end — work with Product Managers and Engineers across multiple squads to build or improve BaaS features, from discovery to delivery.

  • Improve user experiences — contribute to making Swan's API, dashboards, and partner-facing interfaces more intuitive and reliable.

  • Collaborate across squads — engage with different product squads and adapt to various problem spaces within payments and banking.

  • Support cross-functional needs — help Marketing, Brand, and Product Integration teams with prototypes, visual assets, and design contributions.

  • Contribute to our design system — help maintain and evolve "Lake," Swan's Product Design system, ensuring consistency across the product.

  • Grow as a designer — progressively take on more ownership and complexity, supported by the team and the Lead Product Designer.

✨ Your team

You'll join the Product Design team, working closely with our Lead Product Designer and the team , and collaborating daily with Product Managers, Engineers, and other cross-functional teams.

You'll be embedded in product squads while also contributing to transversal design initiatives. The role is based in Paris .

✨ Preferred experience

You're a great match if:

  • You are looking for a 1 or 2-year apprenticeship in a fast-paced work environment.

  • You are a student in your 2nd or 3rd year in a Bachelor's, Master's, or similar design-related program.

  • You have strong product design skills — you can think through user flows, interactions, and interfaces with clarity.

  • You have solid UI skills and an eye for detail.

  • Proficiency in Figma is essential.

  • You're curious about fintech, payments, or API products — prior knowledge is a plus, not a requirement.

  • Familiarity with prototyping tools (Lovable, v0, Figma Make, etc.) or basic front-end (HTML, CSS) is a plus.

  • Proactive learner who stays up to date with product, design, and AI trends.

  • Excellent team player, comfortable collaborating with multiple teams in an international environment.

  • Excellent working abilities in English . French is a plus.

Our ideal teammate: Empathetic. Skilled. Frank. We love to challenge each other, and we leave our egos at the door.

It's okay if you don't tick all the boxes — don't let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying!
