About the Role

As a Senior Scientist – Research Veterinarian within our Translational Models (TIM) department, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality veterinary care and global regulatory compliance with animal protection legislation and Sanofi policy. You will also provide strong scientific and technical support to the research portfolio by designing and executing in vivo studies according to the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) principles and Good Research Practices (GRP). Main Responsibilities

• Serve as the Designated Veterinarian for the Vitry site: ensure regulatory compliance, act as the interface with authorities and accreditation bodies, and establish the veterinary program for the site.

• Provide veterinary care (including on‑call duty) to a variety of animal species and implement the 3Rs program in collaboration with veterinarians across the French sites (Montpellier and Vitry).

• Participate in relevant internal committees (e.g. Animal Welfare Body, Ethics Committee) and conduct veterinary reviews of projects and procedures as appropriate.

• Ensure that policies and practices regarding animal care and use are in compliance with current regulations, with a strong focus on the 3Rs and GRP.

• Contribute to the global audit program for external partners (Animal Welfare Assessment program).

• Act as a scientific advisor, study director and/or scientific project team member.

About You

• Experience: Experience in veterinary practice in a research setting, including surgical skills; experience supporting research teams and developing animal models.

• Technical skills: Proficiency in legislation related to the protection of animals used for scientific purposes; expertise in analgesia/anesthesia and veterinary best practices; affinity for digital tools.

• Soft skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams across science, clinical, and digital fields. Research Project Management / Scientific Studies Direction.

• Education: Veterinary degree with regulatory qualification for function (b) 'designing procedures and projects' (required for the role). Master’s or PhD qualification in life sciences preferred.

• Languages: Fluent in French and English.
