Introduction

Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) Group in the European Parliament has decided to open the procedure for filling 1 post (AST 1) as a temporary agent. The newly founded political group consists of 27 parliamentarians from Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, France, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, and its goal is to restore sovereignty and self‑determination to European nations.

Job Description

The press assistant fulfils a supranational function within the ESN Parliamentary Group, assisting all ESN staff members in carrying out their duties.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce the group’s social media content for X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube (sharepics, carousels, stories, reels/shorts, headers, thumbnails, graphic tiles).
  • Prepare posts for publication and coordinate scheduling with relevant teams.
  • Write political copies in excellent language.
  • Design flyers, brochures, posters and roll‑ups – including layout, preflight checks, CMYK preparation, bleed, and coordination with printers through to final production.
  • Support the press team with video productions – filming with DSLR/DSLM cameras, managing audio and lighting, and editing in Premiere Pro.
  • Manage newsletters: layout, image selection, linking, publishing, and quality control.

Qualifications

  • High availability – frequent meetings, irregular working hours, flexibility, judgement, methodical approach, discretion and adaptability.
  • Capacity for teamwork in an international environment.
  • Ability to grasp wide‑ranging problems and respond rapidly to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro).
  • Thorough knowledge of German; satisfactory knowledge of English; additional EU language desirable.
  • Good knowledge of EU institutions, political systems and the ESN Group’s political activities.
  • Higher education diploma, or secondary education diploma with at least three years of relevant experience, or at least eight years of equivalent professional experience.
  • National of an EU Member State, full citizen rights, no criminal record and fulfilment of military obligations.

Salary and Benefits

Contract as a temporary agent (type 2(c)) for an indefinite period. Additional benefits include sickness insurance, EU civil service pension rights after 10 years, at least 24 days of annual leave, and other allowances as appropriate.

Selections and Tests

The selection procedure follows a written and oral assessment. Candidates who meet the stated conditions and demonstrate the required skills will be invited to participate in these tests. Successful candidates may later be offered a contract in accordance with the ESN Group’s staff regulations.
