Location: Braintree, MA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $125,000 - $225,000
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Power Developer to lead the development and execution of large-scale power projects. This role will focus on advancing innovative energy infrastructure initiatives, including natural gas, hydrogen production, and carbon capture projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a development professional with a strong background in energy infrastructure, project execution, permitting, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving projects from early-stage development through execution while working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of development strategies for power projects.
- Manage projects throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with investment objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Negotiate development agreements and oversee permitting activities to support successful project execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, regulators, consultants, customers, and project partners.
- Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, and external affairs teams to ensure seamless project advancement.
- Develop community engagement strategies and cultivate local support for project initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis, including pro forma modeling, NPV analysis, and IRR calculations, to evaluate project viability and support investment decisions.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones while providing regular updates to leadership.
- Support commercial discussions and relationships with project off-takers and strategic partners.
- Travel as needed to project sites, stakeholder meetings, and development activities (up to 40%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of energy project development experience for Manager-level candidates; 12+ years for Director-level candidates.
- Proven track record developing and advancing power or large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing permitting processes and navigating complex project development environments.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with pro forma modeling, NPV analysis, IRR calculations, and project economics.
- Knowledge of U.S. power markets, ISOs, power economics, and energy development incentives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%.
