Overview

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in mobile manipulation for handling material in nuclear and/or hazardous environments, focusing on applied robotics for extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in applied robotics for extreme environments, particularly in the nuclear, oil & gas industries, or the military.
• Co-author peer-reviewed research papers.
• Collaborate with group members and Principal Investigator to define and scope research projects.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, received within the past three years, with research related to robotics or software for complex systems.
• Experience preparing proposals and peer-reviewed technical papers.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and sponsors.

Salary

$70,000 + depending on qualifications.

Working Conditions

• Academic and laboratory environments with occasional field and hazardous material work.
• May involve large robotic systems or autonomous vehicles.
• Laboratory work with standard office conditions, manual dexterity, repetitive keyboard use.
