Postdoc Opportunity in LLM-based Software and Data Engineering for Cloud-Edge-IoT Continuum
I am currently recruiting a postdoc to join our research team at Télécom SudParis (Institut Polytechnique de Paris), applying LLM-based software and data engineering approaches to service orchestration and cyber posture assessment across the Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum.
About the Project
As organizations increasingly rely on multi-cloud strategies and Cloud–Edge–IoT infrastructures to power smart cities, Industry 4.0, and connected vehicle networks, ensuring service quality, security, and resilience across highly heterogeneous environments has become a major challenge. This is compounded by a highly monopolized cloud market that leaves users locked into single providers.
Research Focus
Building on our team's prior work on cloud-provider-independent service description and discovery, this PhD will tackle the next challenge: automated, cross-provider service composition combined with continuous, automated cyber risk assessment. The research spans several core axes:
- Automated Deployment & Monitoring: Developing a methodology for the automated generation of deployment models for composite services, integrating execution monitoring, anomaly detection, and resource usage prediction across complex, heterogeneous infrastructures.
- Monitoring & Anomaly Detection Tooling: Building software components that integrate monitoring and anomaly detection capabilities into existing infrastructures and applications, adapted to the growing complexity of Cloud–Edge–IoT software stacks.
- Continuous Cyber Posture Assessment: Designing automated, transparent security assessment approaches – based on dynamic indicators and system analysis – for organizations of all sizes, from SMEs to large enterprises, in line with current European regulations (NIS2, DORA).
- Industrial Validation: Testing and validating these approaches on industrial use cases representative of the Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum, demonstrating effectiveness, robustness, and continuous improvement of both quality of service and cyber posture.
Candidate Profile
We are specifically looking for a candidate with strong Generative AI / LLM tooling skills, applied to real-world software and data engineering problems. Required profile:
- A PhD or Doctorat obtained less than 3 years ago
- Strong, hands‑on knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based tooling
- Solid experience and expertise in cloud services and cloud computing technologies
- Proficiency in programming with Python, Java, C, and C++
Advantageous (not required)
- Experience in machine learning
- Experience with orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.)
- Experience with blockchain and business process management (BPM) technologies
How to Apply
If you're passionate about applying LLM-based software and data engineering to real-world cybersecurity and cloud-orchestration challenges across the Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum, please apply before 15/08/2026 by sending a cover letter and CV to:
Please feel free to share or forward this opportunity to anyone in your network who might be a good fit!
