Offer Description

Are you interested in exploring molecular chemistry away from equilibrium? As a member of our group, you will aim to study chemical or redox-responsive systems that can harvest energy to realize non-spontaneous processes. You will work in an international and collaborative environment at the Institute for Supramolecular Science and Engineering (ISIS, Strasbourg, FR), which hosts world-renown leaders in the field of supramolecular chemistry.

Based on your interests and skills, you will engineer small molecules that use chemical or electrochemical energy sources to perform non-spontaneous processes, such as phase separation, mirror symmetry breaking, or endergonic synthesis. You will develop skills in the areas of organic-, physical-, electro- and supramolecular chemistry, applied to non-equilibrium systems. Find out more about our work on our website: ragazzonlab.isis.unistra.fr.

This position can be related to the ERC project KI-NET or the ANR project NERD, depending on your scientific interests. KI-NET investigates catalysis-driven non-equilibrium systems, while NERD is a project on non-equilibrium aspects of molecular electrochemistry, in collaboration with the group of Prof. Esposito at the University of Luxembourg: leading theoreticians in non-equilibrium systems, who will develop theoretical models to rationalize and guide your experiments.

Postdoc candidate profile: by the contract starting date you should defended your PhD thesis in Chemistry or other relevant subject.

How to apply: Send a CV and a motivation letter (why are you interested in this position? Max 2 pages) to mentioning "Postdoc recruitment" in the subject. Please provide the contact of at least one reference person. The deadline for application is April 17th, 2026.
