The Inria Saclay-Île-de-France Research Centre was established in 2008. It has developed as part of the Saclay site in partnership with Paris-Saclay University and with the Institut Polytechnique de Paris .
The centre has 40 project teams , 32 of which operate jointly with Paris‑Saclay University and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris; Its activities occupy over 600 people, scientists and research and innovation support staff, including 44 different nationalities.
PHIQUS team
The PhIQuS project team is lead by Marc‑Olivier Renou and involves ~20 researchers.Itis one of the leading research groups in the areas of quantum information theory in quantum networks, and Bell nonlocality and its applications. We have a unique expertise at the interface between Physics and Computer Science;our work appears inthe top Physics journals (Nature, Nature Physics, PRX, PRL) and the top Computer Science conference (STOC, QIP, TQC, QCRYPT).
These positions are supported by twoQuantERA grants (COMPUTE andQuantum Network Algorithms 2026–2029) and other fundings.
Several Postdoctoral grants positions are available, for a duration of 1-3 years.
- Theoretical foundations of distributed quantum computing
- Quantum correlations, quantum nonlocality, entanglement, notably based on Mathematical Physics approaches based on noncommutative polynomial optimisation and C* Algebras
Precise projects will be tailored to your expertise.
As part of a INRIA Team located in Saclay, you will have the possibility to collaborate with other quantum information researchers in Paris area and abroad:
- Distributed Computing:all european members of the QuantERA2024 Quantum Network Algorithms consortium
- Optimization and Mathematical Physics for quantum physics:alleuropean members of the QuantERA2026COMPUTE consortium
- Inria teams Curiosity, Quacs, Cosmiq, Quantic, ...
The applicant should hold a PhD degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field and have an excellent track record of publications in either quantum information theory or distributed computing. Familiarity with Bell nonlocality,distributed computing,C* algebras, SDP relaxations of polynomial optimization problems, quantum correlation protocolsand / or experimental physics is a plus, but not necessary.

Defence Security :This position is likely to be situated in a restricted area (ZRR), as defined in Decree No. relatingto the protection of national scientific and technical potential (PPST).Authorisation to enter an area isgranted by the director of the unit, following a favourable Ministerial decision, as defined in the decreeof 3 July 2012 relating to the PPST. An unfavourable Ministerial decision in respect of a position situatedin a ZRR would result in the cancellation of the appointment.
