Postdoctoral / Research Engineer in 6G PHY Layer, 13 months contract

Contract type: CDD 13 months. Salary negotiable.

Overview

The selected candidate will contribute to teaching and research efforts at the Digital Systems Center, focusing on advanced telecoms and signal processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction (lectures, tutorials, labs) in Master’s programs, especially signal processing applied to telecommunications; some courses in English.
• Develop high‑level research on signal‑processing algorithms and transmission techniques for 5G/6G physical layer. Topics: optimized waveforms, ISAC, AI‑based or explainable AI, transmission schemes resilient to hardware impairments, ensuring robustness and energy efficiency.
• Engage in collaborative projects within the ART research group on 5G/6G communication.
• Publish in leading conferences and journals and support scientific events.

Qualifications

• PhD in Signal Processing, Telecommunications or related discipline, with expertise in PHY of advanced communication systems, focus on 5G/6G.
• Expertise in at least one of: optimized waveforms for 6G (e.g., ISAC), AI‑based wireless communications (hybrid/explainable), resilient transmission schemes to hardware imperfections.
• Strong proficiency with simulation/modeling tools: MATLAB, Simulink, GNU Radio, Python (PyTorch, etc.).
• Strong communication: ability to work with interdisciplinary colleagues, autonomy, initiative, scientific communication and outreach.
• Excellent command of English, spoken and written.
